Sometimes I fancy myself a writer. Other days, well, it makes me want to puke. Soooo, I've just finished the horrible experience of writing a dissertation. My fingers are still dried and cracked from having to type, hour after hour, the boring language of publication. It's like having to write sandpaper--scratches the fingers and the eyes. I can't even tell you what it does to the heart. Anyway, a fantastic friend suggested I start a journal and so I did. I'm finding it to be an excellent salve for the soul.

In addition to my self-indulgent natterings of fiction, I also teach. I teach communication at the local university, despite many a student's misguided perception that they already know how to do this effectively...many of them do not. Then again, neither do many of us in the communication field. Ironic, huh? So, I write and I teach, and I teach and I write, and somewhere in between there's this thing called life that I guess I'm living. Strange.

Part of the whole living thing involves my fantabulous partner, our two cats,Dude and Jezzabelle, and our dog Bubba. Our first child is on the way...pregnancy is a wild ride.
